I love fraus, fraus, fraus, fraus.. Fraus I do adore
** I never said this shit was new, but this shit is good! **
I’m in the mood for some remixes today, and there are few better places to start than with a couple of licks from the lovely Chicken Lips. The unsung heroes of dirty disco have brought out some of the best remixes of the last few years, and had me shaking a tail-feather all over my living room lately. The boys have plucked a campfire anthem from Damien Rice’s old band, Bell X1 (huge in Ireland apparently!), and given it the tar and glitter treatment.
Like Bell X1, The Kills are not a band you’re likely to find in my metaphorical CD player normally, but a little bit of Chicken Lips magic and, what do you know, I’m moving my hips again! This remix is hardly fresh from the farm, but give it a go any way and the infectious groove should have you doing ‘the chicken’ in no time.
Bell X1- Flame (Chicken Lips Remix)
The Kills- No Wow (Chicken Lips Remix)
More jangly guitar nonsense I wouldn’t normally listen to now, with the Kaiser Chiefs. Ok, I enjoyed Britpop the “first” time around in 1994 or whatever, but then I was an impressionable barely-pubescent lad who was more than happy to affect a mockney accent, and pogo around the living room (can you tell I don’t get out much?) to Liam, Damon and Jarvis (especially Jarvis!). I think I’m a little old for all that nonsense now, but I’m always game for a Boys Noize remix.
We’ve already featured the amazing “Banquet” remix recently here on Fluokids, but the radical reworking of “Everyday I Love You Less And Less” might have gone a litte under the radar. I know Tiga for one was rinsing this tune for a few weeks, and the reason it didn’t endure is probably the fact that the overly familiar vocal tends to grate after a while. I’m hoping that a few of you indie kids will hear this version though, realise the folly of your ways and defect to the good ship electro! I’m also throwing in Boys Noize latest, and arguably greatest dancefloor napalm, the remix of “Frau” by I Robots. The dispassioned German mantra evokes the glory days of Gigolo, and it has been a while since a bassline hit home as hard as this one.
The Kaizer Chiefs- Every day I Love You Less And Less (Boys Noize Remix)
I Robots- Frau (Boys Noize Remix)
ENJOY, MEIN DISCOINDIEKINDER!!

It’s not a remix as such, but Bus A Bus has cheekily ripped off “Technologic” here, in surely one of the unlikeliest samples in rap history.
Busta Rhymes- Touch It
